“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-” Ephesians 2:8
One of the most simple, but my favorite, definitions of grace comes from the Merriam-Webster dictionary. It defines it as “a virtue coming from God.” I like this so much because it perfectly corresponds with the verse. Our verse for today says that we as humans cannot give grace, it is a gift of God. I love what Episcopal priest Justin Holocomb says “Grace is getting what you don’t deserve, and not getting what you do deserve.” God offers us this grace through forgiveness and kindness. He also offered us grace by sacrificing Jesus for our sins.

Dear God, Thank you for this day. I appreciate the grace You offer us, even though we don’t deserve it. Amen
