Peace

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” - 1 Peter 5:7

We have been through a week of Advent! Thank you for reading the devotionals and sharing with your family and friends!

On this second Sunday of Advent, we light the Peace candle. The Hebrew word for peace is Shalom, and this word has a deeper meaning than just peace. It means “wholeness, completeness, soundness, health, safety and prosperity, carrying with it the implication of permanence.” (Jews for Jesus). God offers us this kind of peace if we reach out to him. In today’s verse it tells us that we need to tell Him about our suffering and pain because He will take that away. Peace is always there, we just need to ask for it.

Prayer

Dear God,  Thank you for offering peace to us. In order to remain whole and complete I will come to you with my anxiety and ask you for peace. Amen
